Your grandma is probably the first person who comes in mind when you think of grey hair. In an effort to stay young most ladies are usually running to the salon every time they find a few horrifying silver strands (i should know finding my first few recently). In 2015 we are introduced to the hottest new trend#grannyhair, its popping up everywhere on social media, it is an edgy look redefining going grey.

Grey has gone from dreaded to desired and celebrities, models and young women across the country are all asking for the new silver trend. With stars such as Kylie Jenner, Nicole Richie, Rihannaand many more, confidently rocking this beautiful colour. The tone has also encouraged older customers to stop colouring over there greys and embrace the change, who cares about the silver foxes it’s all about the sexy silver felines.

To do such a look, a stylist needs to strip all the pigment out of our hair so you need to ensure you have the right homecare, we recommend using the new Kerastase Therapiste range. This will ensure the integrity of the hair stays intact and please be patient with this process.

To find which shade of grey will suit you best, simply look under your wrist. If the veins are blue or purple you have cool skin tones, so opt for pure white grey tones. If they look green or have a yellow tone

you are warm skin tone and you should go for a steely grey tone. Your hair colour can be tweakedto reveal cooler silver hues or warmer beige greys, there really is 50 shades of grey. Balayage is also a great way for multi-dimensional grey hues, the charcoal roots into a silver soft ends is personally one of my favourite representations of this trend. So be brave go grey talk to your stylist next time you’re in the salon.
